He builds systems in Elixir, Phoenix, and Phoenix LiveView across blockchain, IoT, AI, and web platforms. He graduated in 2021 and has worked across fintech payment and billing systems, blockchain loyalty infrastructure, real-time fundraising platforms, IoT access-control systems, and internal tooling, often using AI-assisted workflows to ship complex features quickly. ## About - Role: Independent software engineering consultant (Nov 2024 to present). - Core stack: Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, Stripe, Docker, AWS (Lambda, SQS). - Domains: backend engineering, distributed systems, fintech and payments, blockchain/web3, IoT, AI and LLM-assisted development, web platforms. - Based: works remotely; has lived and travelled across India, Switzerland, The United States, The UAE and Europe. ## Pages - [Home](https://kevinam.com/): Overview, featured projects, and current focus. - [About](https://kevinam.com/about): Background, full tech stack, and the personal side (hiking, gym, music, travel). - [Experience](https://kevinam.com/experience): Professional timeline and career history. - [Projects](https://kevinam.com/projects): Personal builds, professional work, and open source contributions. - [Contact](https://kevinam.com/contact): Contact form and social links. ## Experience - Software Engineering Consultant, Various companies (Nov 2024 to present): fintech, web3, blockchain, IoT, and web platforms, primarily in Elixir and Phoenix. For a B2B loyalty-currency exchange platform (buyers prepay to issue airline miles and points), co-built the Stripe prepayment and billing engine (subscriptions, top-ups, idempotent payment webhooks, deferred-revenue double-entry ledger) that turned a pre-revenue product into a monetisable one; shipped its first live seller integration and an HMAC-signed webhook system with zero-downtime secret rotation; hardened financial correctness with reversal entries, retries, and a reconciliation worker wired to Slack alerts, keeping a double-entry ledger balanced through a 48-hour, 42-million-request stress test; and built a TypeScript and ethers.js blockchain audit-trail microservice for tamper-evident, third-party-verifiable records. Also delivered third-party integrations and automated monitoring and alerting that replaced manual checks with proactive alerts. - Software Engineer, Integral Thread (Sept 2025 to March 2026): full stack engineer on Give With Click, a fundraising platform built with Elixir, Phoenix, and LiveView. Cut weekly manual reporting time by about 70 percent with internal tooling. - Backend Engineer, qiibee ag, Zürich (Aug 2021 to Oct 2024): one of two primary backend engineers on a multi-tenant, blockchain-backed loyalty platform serving 20+ brands, built as an Elixir umbrella of 15+ services. Built the redemption engine integrating Shopify, Coinbase, Binance, PayPal, and airline mileage programs; led the Shopify integration; authored NFT-balance reconciliation and nonce re-sync tooling that restored data integrity after a blockchain outage (500+ transactions made whole); engineered core blockchain signing-service capabilities; and improved data retrieval performance by 1400 percent within Lambda constraints. - Project Consultant, Mrinq Technologies (Feb 2021 to Jul 2021): IoT access-control and device diagnostics systems for Spintly on AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and RDS. ## Selected Projects - B2B loyalty-currency exchange and prepayment/billing platform (Elixir, Phoenix, Stripe, double-entry ledger, blockchain audit trail). - Blockchain loyalty infrastructure for brand partners (Elixir, Phoenix, Broadway, GenStage, AWS Lambda). - Real-time fundraising platform with Phoenix LiveView. - Job Application Agent: a local-first LangGraph agent that turns a job-post URL into a tailored resume, cover letter, and answered application questions (Python, LangGraph, Playwright, Ollama). - RAG agent for chatting with PDFs. - PII detector Slack app. - Open source contributions to the Elixir ecosystem, including Ash Framework, Keila, Torch, and Standard Webhooks. ## Links - GitHub: https://github.com/kevinam99 - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/kevin-a-mathew - Medium: https://medium.com/@kevinam99 - Dev.to: https://dev.to/kevinam99 - X (Twitter): https://x.com/neverloquacious - Sitemap: https://kevinam.com/sitemap-index.xml
